Temiskaming Shores Library Digital Creator Space

Message from Temiskaming Shores Library:

We now have our digital creator space up and running at the library.   We have a summer intern until late August who can show people around the space. We are doing free 3D printing, green screen pictures, an introduction to Virtual Reality and introduction to Raspberry Pi. This fall we hope to start up programming with the technology in the space but that will depend on how COVID-19 restrictions are going.  In the meantime, the best news is that users do not need a library card to access this service.  All are more than welcome to come in and check out the space along with non-card holders from any of the other townships!!

Library User Fees

As per resolution 2022-006, passed at the January 4 2022 Kerns Township Council meeting, Kerns Township will reimburse Kerns Twp Residents $60.00 to cover some of the cost for purchasing a Library card for the City of Temiskaming Shores Library.  As per Council, this will include all cards purchased at any time in the year 2022 and going forward, but is subject to change from time to time as per Council Resolution.

Recycling Materials

NOTICE TO ALL RESIDENTS – IMPORTANT INFORMATION

All recyclable material brought into the recycling containers at the landfill site have to be discarded LOOSELY in the containers.  Please DO NOT put your recyclable material in garbage bags!

The only exemption is for shredded paper which has to be in CLEAR plastic bags.

If the materials are not discarded properly, extra charges are billed to the townships, therefore reflecting additional expenses.

Thank you!

Snow Removal

Please keep in mind, under the Highway Traffic Act, Chap. H.8.181 cites the following "no person shall deposit snow or ice on a roadway without permission in writing to do so from the Ministry or the road authority responsible for the maintenance of the road. R.S.O 1980, c.198, s.157". In simple words: do not push snow across the road; it is illegal!
