Armstrong Township Public Library
Our library has a new refreshed look and some exciting changes for 2023!
New for 2023 is the introduction of on line E-Books. This allows you to access books, audio books or periodicals for free on multiple devices! You can access huge libraries by downloading the Libby or the Aldiko Next (French) app. Download your book or magazine and then enjoy it later. You do not need to have internet access to read or hear your book. All you need is your library card number and the app. Drop by the library is assistance is needed.
A Crochet Club will be starting on May 4th. Drop by on Thursday evening 6:30-7:30 to learn how to crochet or any afternoon from 1:30-3:30 to work on your project or socialize. Please call the library if you want to attend the learn to Crochet sessions.
“Seeds to Feed” is a program that provides up to 5 packages of FREE garden and flower seeds to library members. This program is sponsored by Earlton Timber Mart and Leis Landscaping Yard. Participants can enter in a draw for a garden basket to be drawn in June.
The Library was the grateful recipient of a 2023 grant from North On Tap to purchase large print books for the library. This will greatly expand our large print library for the visually impaired.
The Library also has an 85” Samsung Flip Interactive Monitor which is available for classes. This was purchased through The Digital Divide Microgrant Program offered by the Timiskaming Health Unit in 2022.
The Little Library is also located in front of the municipal building. Books and magazines can be taken or left 24/7 for others to enjoy free of charge.
We have public computers, photocopying and free Wi-Fi. Books and DVDs can be borrowed and Inter-library loans can be accessed for books that are not available at our location. We also have toys and puzzles and a makerspace area for crafts.
The “Pay as you Please” book sale is ongoing in the library. Selection is constantly changing. We are always looking for donations of cloth or plastic bags. If you have any, please drop them off at the library.
Membership to the library is free if you are an owner or tenant of property in the Villages of Earlton, Thornloe, or Charlton or the Township of Armstrong, Charlton/Dack or Kerns. If you are a resident of other municipalities you can still access the Library for a non-resident fee of $35.00 per year.
